Hudson's 11th Birthday

It was sad that we couldn't do a lot for Hudson's birthday during the corona virus. We tried to make it special anyway. Gianna and I made confetti pancakes in the morning. Family called and texted him during the day. He had a surprise visit from Nana, KK, Aunt Jen, Grace and Kaden! They brought donuts, kolache, chocolate milk and gifts. (forgot pics)
Our friend, Clair,  made a banner for our front yard. Josh put it up before he went to work so Hudson could see it in the morning. He really liked it!
He opened Gianna's present when Josh got home
 Camo was intently watching
It was a new Columbia hat. He really likes the Columbia gear right now.
We got him a new bike a little early
Hudson is always outside, so I sent him to take a bath to keep him busy before the birthday parade came down. We told him Nana and Papa were coming to bring him his gift to get him outside.
Once he saw everyone coming down the road he started crying and then I started crying!
He was so surprised!!
There was a big turnout with our family and friends

 The decorations were so fun
We went to each car and took pictures

They brought gifts, posters and candy
We sang Happy Birthday to him
He opened his gifts after most people had left
I can't believe he is 11 and getting closer to being a teenager! It was like a mini party and gave Hudson something fun to do. It was so special and we were touched by all who came! He was still talking about it the next day.
Hudson wanted to get Popeyes for dinner, but by the time we finished at the house they were closed. Had to settle for Taco Bell. We did get Popeyes the next night. He picked out a cookies and cream ice cream cake this year.
Since they couldn't go out for breakfast, Josh took Hudson fishing on the Saturday after his birthday. He has been asking to go fishing for a while. They borrowed Papa's boat.
They went to Chenal off of  False River
They only caught one brim the whole day, but they had a great day together

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
