Hudson was returning to Sharon Baptist for kindergarten. A few weeks after school got out, we got a call that the school was closing due to low enrollment. We were dissapointed and then had to decide what to do about school. After praying and doing research, we applied at Christian Life Academy in Baton Rouge. We went through the application process that included an entrance test for Hudson. Gianna and I got to sit in on the test.
He passed the test and he was accepted! Now he was an official Crusader (the mascot)
We had orientation on the Saturday before school started. The after care workers took the kids out while the parents got information for the year. Hudson didn't want to go and stayed with us. Gianna ran out and never looked back!
We got to meet his teacher and see his classroom.
Frist day of kindergarten 8-11-14
They recommended dropping off in the carpool line instead of walking him in. I wanted to walk him in, but I followed the rules and did the carpool line. Josh went with us too. He got out, waved bye and walked in. He didn't cry or anything. I teared up a little as we drove away just realizing how he is growing up!
That afternoon, the interstate was closed due to a spill so I couldn't get to school in time. Josh didn't have a vehicle because we dropped him off at work and was picking him up to get Hudson. It was stressful for a minute! Josh called his mom and she was in Baton Rouge and could get to school in time. We picked him up from Nana and Gianna gave him a present. He did well all week with dropping off. He told me he was sad and cried one time.
The school has a class webpage where we communicate and keep up with events. Here are some photos they posted from the first day.
He is having fun and says he likes it. His teacher said he is a superstar, doing very well and even keeps his friends on track.
