Lake Smith

Jennifer wanted us to do a family trip at their friend's lake house in Alabama with our dad. We went from September 13-17th. My Dad rode with us. It was 6.5 hours away.
Hudson's kayak strapped on top.

We arrived at 3:45

It was a nice house with a pretty view of the lake
The kids went swimming and fishing very soon after we got there
They brought their dog, Beau
Hudson was still in his fishing tournament so he did a lot of fishing
We ate at Jim N Nick's Barbecue that night and picked up our groceries at Walmart
The boys did some night fishing and slept on the party barge that night under the pier cover.
Hudson caught a big catfish on his line
We drank our coffee on the porch
Josh cooked breakfast in the mornings
Hudson kayaked around the coves of the lake
They let us use their party barge
It was cloudy and chilly on the water
The kids rode on the tube and had a blast
Josh drove the boat and tried to throw the kids off the tube :)
Hudson drove for a little while
Josh made pastalaya for Thursday night per Jennifer's request. Jamie and Jules arrived Thursday night.
Friday:
Jules wanted to go on the tube, so we went out on the boat again Friday morning
Dad cooked shrimp stew for Friday night's meal
Hudson taking Jules on the kayak
The kids did a fire and smores that night. Rusty and the rest of their kids got in late Friday night.
Saturday:
More fishing
The whole crew went on the boat Saturday afternoon and tubed

Sunset taken by Hudson

The kids played a game
We played Mexican train
We left on Sunday morning after a quick breakfast. It was so nice to spend a few days with Jen and drink coffee together on the porch!
We haven't done a vacation with my Dad so it was good to be with him and make some memories!

Rehearsal was on Friday April 11th. Gianna and Grace went early to help with the littles. We had tickets to Showcase 2 on Saturday  The girls in their dressing room. She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
