Snow Day

We woke up to snow on Friday, December 8, 2017. The night before the weatherman had several models predicting at least some snow. I was thinking it might be a little dusting and Josh was sure that it wouldn't be anything. He woke me up at 5:00 am to tell me and wanted to get the kids up, but I said to wait a little longer. He had been up since 4:00 am waiting on us, so around 6:30 we all got up.

Our last big snow was 9 years ago. We have had a little bit since then, but this was a big surprise. I'm glad the kids got have this special day.
It was really coming down in big flakes
I had planned on doing school, thinking it wouldn't be any snow or maybe just freezing rain. Josh was off, so I let them skip for a fun day.

Josh was so excited and was like a boy on Christmas morning. He said. "this is unbelievable" about 400 times!!

a little snowman

Everyone decided to go to the levee to slide down by Jen and Mario's house. They had so much fun! I'm glad they got to do that. It may be years before we see snow again.

Gianna wore Hudson's old pair of insulated camo coveralls

Here are some videos of the "sledding"  fun

I even went down one time

A few wipeouts

This is actually Kaden and Gianna. It was hard to tell with all the clothes on.
Kaden came back to our house and they built a bigger snowman

We went to the camp that night and they had gotten more snow than us

It was very pretty out in the woods with the snow.

The next morning it all was melting and it was loud as it fell to the ground. The snow was a beautiful sight, but I'm glad we don't have it all the time. It was such a mess and a lot of wet clothes!

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
