Hudson's 8th Birthday

Hudson's birthday was on the last day of the Easter break. He wanted to go to Toys R Us the day before.

Then we all got a coffee

He had pancakes for breakfast and we sang to him

On Friday, he picked Popeyes for lunch and to play at the park. He opened presents under a tree and then the kids played.

Some of the cousins and family came

We gave him a light bar for his go cart and Josh put it on that night.

Gianna had her recital rehearsal on the night of his birthday, so we did his party on the next weekend. He wanted to go camping for his birthday. We decided on Tickfaw State Park. We went on Friday and invited our families to come out on Saturday.

We set up the camper and site area and then went to explore the park

They have a nature center with animals and information on Louisiana wildlife

Josh boiled some shrimp for dinner, It was the first time he has done shrimp. The flavor was good, but they were a little tough. FYI- Gianna is taking these next pictures.

Hudson wanted to do a fire even when it was hot and humid

This was the water line from the August flood. They had 9 feet of water.

We took a walk to the fishing pond

Saturday morning our family started arriving around 10:00 a.m. After most of the cousins got there, we went to the splash park.

Hudson requested Josh's pastalaya for lunch.

After lunch, we did presents and cake

They didn't find everything on the list, but it was fun

Leilynn is always a big help with the kids and getting them where they need to be

All of our families together for the day was great! We really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun.

We packed up that night to go home because some bad weather was coming the next morning. They were worn out.

Recital

Rehearsal was on Friday April 11th. Gianna and Grace went early to help with the littles. We had tickets to Showcase 2 on Saturday The girls in their dressing room. They were in all four showcases that weekend. Tap - "Shake" Jazz - "Take it All Back" Pointe- "O The Blood" Ballet Intense - "My America" Ballet - "Flowers" Hip Hop Gianna celebrated her 10th year with DDA and had a special tribute during the recital. This is proof that Hudson went So proud of Gianna for her hard work. She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different. I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage. Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday. He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday. Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it. Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion. We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna. The beans were an inside joke I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances. Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young. We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas. My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk. I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch. We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville. The food was really good.
