The rest of summer

We found homes for our kittens and decided to keep one. He's a very sweet and laid back boy. He lets Gianna do whatever she wants to him and doesn't mind at all. We named him Dusty. Everyone is shocked that Josh let them have another cat! They grew so attached to him and Daddy didn't want to break their hearts.

Josh put up the pool, but after 2 years of it sitting it had a few holes in it. We found a bigger pool on sale so we upgraded. It's been so nice with the hot days.

Gianna can touch and now she is swimming under water. She is taking in a lot of water too :)

We swam at my mom's neighbors a few times with the cousins

They wish they could all have these from Cabela's- not going to happen in the living room ;)
we made and decorated cookies
Making fun inside games. This was a track for a remote control dirt bike
This was Gianna's ticket booth for Finding Dory
movie nights
One week we watched three different cousins. Emerie spent the night on Monday and they all slept in Hudson's room.

On the Wednesday, we kept Grayson. He is my cousin Adam's baby, who is 7 months old.
Gianna helped out a lot and he was a very good baby. It had been a while since I've watched a baby, but everything went well.
On Friday and Saturday, Nash and Jetta were with us.
It was a summer of learning and reinforcing for us. Sometimes we get away from things, so I focused on a few areas over the summer. Chores was one of these things. They did pretty well when it came to their assignments. Hudson also took out the garbage, collected eggs. Gianna folded towels and picked up laundry. Together they picked up dishes, fed the cats and cleaned.

After VBS, I was encouraged to read the Bible to them more. We did a daily devotion and Hudson would read out the Bible.
Hudson is learning how to tie his shoes, but he still needs some practice

We got him a texting app on his tablet, now he can text his family members

Gianna learned how to write her name and spell Russo

I got her a workbook to do for the summer and she did the whole thing in one day! I think she will do just fine in school.
We started getting ready for school a few before with uniforms, new shoes and school supplies

Took them for yogurt after going to several shoe stores
Gianna was so excited that she slept with her lunch box

Gianna helped sharpen pencils for her supplies
Hudson had orientation last Thursday night. He is in 2nd grade with Mrs. Phillips.
On Saturday, Gianna had her orientation. She is in Kindergarten with Mrs. Spears.

Did our lunch prep Sunday night for Monday morning

Nana B & Paw Paw took everyone out on Saturday night for a back to school bash. We played arcade games, laser tag then ate Chinese.

It was my family's first time playing laser tag. It was a lot of fun! Gianna didn't like it because it was so dark and she was crying. Hudson didn't like it at first, but then he got use to it.

We were split up into two teams and played against each other
We had a great summer, it just went by too fast!!

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
