Hudson's 7th Birthday

Hudson turned 7 on April 21st! It seems like time is passing faster and faster.

His birthday was on a Thursday. The morning started with some gifts and then Josh took him to breakfast before school.
Josh and his family ate lunch with him at school. Gianna and I went in the afternoon with cupcakes for the class.
We went out to recess with the class

We checked him out a little early and went to Area 51, a trampoline park. He had been asking to go so we decided to do it as a family activity.

There weren't many people in there, so we almost had it to ourselves

It was a lot of fun and we were sore the next day!!

After that, we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings and they played some games
The night ended with yogurt and a Yeti cup
On Saturday we did a family dinner at our house. Even with both our families, it is still a lot of people :) Hudson wanted to boil crawfish, but we went with his second choice- pastalaya.

Gianna got Hudson a pack of the easy fill water balloons for his gift, so we saved them to do with the cousins.

We tried to do a balloon toss, but the little kids couldn't catch the balloons and they popped on the grass.
They ended up throwing them at each other
The flies were really bad, so Josh hung up fly paper and everyone was so fascinated by it. We watched flies get stuck on it for a while!
Hudson got some good gifts- like games for his X-box and Nintendo, swim trunks, clothes, a hat, some toys and a bean bag chair.

We did camouflage plates and napkins. His cake had a shooting target on it.

Love this boy so much!!

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
