Winter Break

Hudson was off of school last week for winter break (Mardi Gras for other schools). We got to do a few things and spend time together at home. It's a welcome break from the Baton Rouge traffic everyday.

The weather has been cold mixed in with some warmer days. The kids played outside and pretended they were camping.
They even had a camp site set up

We went to the movies with Nash and Jetta. Everyone is at a good age for going and we didn't have to take any bathroom breaks during the movie.

We ate lunch with Josh on Wednesday.

We put together Valentine treat bags for our cousins and friends. They did a good job on their own.
Gianna ate a few pieces of chocolate while she was working.
Friday night all my family got pizza together and the kids got a Valentine from Nana & Paw Paw
Josh had a "C" theme going for my Valentine's gifts. Saturday night he brought home crawfish, coke, candy and a card. Some of my favorite things and the crawfish were a nice surprise! The theme continued on Sunday with a coffee after lunch. Josh told them I was the queen of coffee when he ordered and I had a message on my cup :)

Sunday night we tried to have dinner by ourselves after the kids went to bed. It's like they knew we were planning something, because they came out of their rooms several times. Hey, that's real life for ya! We did get to eat alone and have some quiet after they stopped coming out.

We got the kids each a small box of chocolate and a cookie.

I love all my valentines and am so blessed to have these three!!

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
