It was about a week after Thanksgiving when we decorated for Christmas. The weather had been warm and Josh wanted to wait until it was colder so it would feel more like Christmas.
Both of the kids helped, but Hudson was a huge help this year! He was very into the decorating and setting things up. He got all the extension cords connected to the inflatables and lights.
Our tree was small this year. We were thinking about getting an artificial one, but went ahead with a small real one maybe for the last time.
Gianna was really excited about doing the tree. She did a good job placing the ornaments.
We saved some for Hudson to do when he got home and let him put the star on top.
The kids loved that it was just their size
Jetta had a baking party for her 4th birthday. Each girl got an apron and hat to wear and take home.
They rolled out dough with rolling pins and cut cookies out with Christmas cookie cutters.
That night, we went to St. Francisville for their country Christmas. We looked in antique shops and ate at Magnolia Cafe.
We walked through a living nativity at their local Baptist church. They had some animals for the kids to pet at the end.
We went to decorate the bird tree at Maw Maw Ione's house. The kids roll pine cones in peanut butter and then bird seed. They also put popcorn strings on the tree and orange cups filled with seed.
It didn't take long to get it done and then the kids were eating the popcorn off the tree :)
Maw Maw said the birds and squirrels ate every last thing off the tree
Jennifer and I took the kids to A Night in Bethlehem at the Baptist church by our house. You get to learn about life in that time while they tell about the birth of Jesus.
Hudson had a Christmas program at school on December 9th where he was a sheep.
They did several songs and the older kids had dialogue where they told the story of baby Jesus.
They all did a good job and Huddy was the cutest sheep
Gianna helped me send out our Christmas cards. She was using a lot of tape on the envelopes, but was a good helper.
The church had the annual Christmas caroling through Port Allen.
It was cool, but not too cold. Josh pulled the trailer as usual.
The kids really enjoy looking at lights as we go down the streets.
Gianna and I went to school for Hudson's Christmas party. They had cupcakes and punch to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus.
Hudson with his good friend Mickey
The girls love Gianna and fight over who is going to sit by her and help her
Hudson, Gianna and I did some baking while listening to Christmas music.
Then, we had some hot cocoa and sat by the fire. It was a nice time enjoying the moment and realizing how my kids are growing.
They are not big fans of hot cocoa yet :)
They are more into baking and decorating cookies
We went to Relfections of the Season again this year at the WBR visitor center
Hudson and Gianna rode a roller coaster that went kind of fast, but they loved it!
Then they did some slower pace rides
The horse drawn carriage ride was last and the kids got to sit in the front seat. It was cold that night and they had blankets for us to use.
They love doing things with their cousins!
The children's church performed a program called "Christmas in Our Jammies" Our kids haven't done a program at church before, so they were excited. They practiced for weeks and wanted to surprise us. I would hear them singing pieces of songs from time to time.
All dressed in their pajamas and ready to go
I think Gianna was singing the loudest at times. She did so good for her age.
All the kids did very well. Kaden had everyone laughing with his "performance". It was very cute! Jennifer and Cadie did a great job putting it on.
The kids making an edible tree craft at Nana's
Leilynn and Emerie were over one afternoon and I was wrapping gifts. Then they decided to wrap up Hudson.
We rode and looked at Christmas lights one night. This house had music coordinated with their lights.
