October activities

Josh was in a wedding the first weekend in October. It was out of town and we got to stay the weekend for the festivities.
Josh was talking down the aisle and at the front :)

It was a beautiful wedding and nice to spend time together away.

While we were at the wedding, Nana Angie took the kids to the pumpkin patch for a birthday party.

On Sunday, we went to the Sugar Fest after church. We saw farm equipment and how they harvest sugar cane inside the museum.
Outside, we went through some of the old houses and pet some animals.

I think they enjoyed the food!

It was our first cool snap, so we made a fire complete with hot dogs and smores. Looking forward to more of these nights.

Hudson is a little fire bug
Hudson had some fun days at school. During homecoming week they had themed days.
crazy hat day

wacky sock day

Bear Day

Dillon came in for a last minute trip and we did a family day at Global Wildlife Center. Josh and Luke had to work and didn't come :(

 Ready for some fun!
We rode on a covered wagon and you get to see animals up close. Mom bought a sack of feed so we would have plenty of food for the animals.

There were lots of deer and antelope everywhere
One giraffe came close one time, but that was it. They don't like the zebras, so they stay away.

It was the first time there for my kids and they loved it!
The zebras and llamas were funny and very amusing. They open their mouths and you could pour the food in.

Hudson was a little nervous when the animals got close, but they were pretty tame.

These cattle had huge horns and long tongues. Hudson got licked!

The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast. It was a super fun day together!

It was technically November 1, but I'll add it in. We got our first real pet! The kids have been asking for a while if they could have one. Daddy finally gave in :) Someone wanted to give us a kitten and he couldn't keep telling Gianna no.

It's a girl and she is about 11 weeks old.

Leilynn and Emerie were with us when we picked her up. It was an exciting ride home to say the least. They were taking turns holding her and helping us pick a name. We finally decided on Willow.

Gianna wants her to ride in the car, but we tried it and Willow doesn't want to sit still.
She will be an outdoor cat, but she is staying in the garage until she gets a little older.
We let her out during the day to explore and Hudson was so worried about her in the flower bed.
Gianna is so sweet to her and prays for her. She has to tell her good morning and goodnight while giving her hugs and kisses.

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
