Hudson's 6th Birthday

Hudson turned 6 on April 21! He is into boy things like bugs and snakes so we had his party at the Bluebonnet Swamp & Nature Center
We had swamp themed food: Pudding dirt cups, veggie snake, frog sandwiches and snake grapes

The kids did a craft where they colored an alligator and snake

The group went on a nature walk through the swamp and Hudson was the leader.
Along the way, we saw baby grasshoppers, frogs and flowers native to the swamp.

The lady did an animal presentation where we were up close to animals and got to touch some. They included snakes, a baby alligator, rat and a tarantula.

Most of the kids did good with touching the animals and weren't afraid. We also learned some new things about animals.
Hudson was brave letting the snakes climb on him

Hudson got to bring a fox pelt around for everyone to touch

We did cake, ice cream and presents at the end

Emerie covered his head with a bag while Josh brought in his big present
(he actually put the bag back on his head!)
Now, he is ready to do some races!

It was a very cool party and we all had fun. Love my blue eyed boy!

His birthday was on Tuesday so we brought cupcakes to his class in the afternoon and went to Toys R Us after

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
