Christmas Spirit

The first thing we did to get ready for Christmas is getting the tree. We got the first one we looked at, fast and easy.

The kids thought this little tree was so cute
We let it fall overnight and decorated it the next day. Hudson and Gianna put on some of their ornaments. They were really into decorating this year.

Kaden was at our house that night and he even helped.

Hudson wanted to put the star on, but he is scared of going that high up. Gianna ended up putting it on.

They really helped a lot and I left the ornaments where they put them and filled in the rest myself. It was a little stressful letting them help. I was afraid they were going to fall into the tree because they would stand on the couch to reach higher. Nothing was broke and we had a good time together!

They like counting down the days on the advent calendar. Gianna asks everyday if it is Christmas yet.

The kids look forward to setting up the outside decorations. We got a new penguin, Minnie Mouse and inflatable snowman because last years inflatables were broken. It's no secret that this isn't Josh's favorite thing to do, but he does it for the kids.
Hudson had his Christmas musical at school. The pre-k and kindergarten wore their p.j.'s.

They did very well singing loud and performing the motions

Christmas Activities

We did some family Christmas activities together. Most of the outings we did last year, so the kids remembered doing them.

A new one was A Night in Bethlehem, a walk through experience at the First Baptist church.
The kids got to touch pottery and things from that time at the different booths.

At Reflections of the Seasons in the WBR visitor center
we went inside to see the 13 foot alligator.
Rode the horse drawn carriage to see the lights outside

They had a few rides this year for the kids. They all enjoyed that very much.

At the Acadian Village we walked through to look at lights

The kids rode a few rides and had cotton candy
Took some fun pictures

On the way out, the kids got to sit in a firetruck

Christmas field trip

I went with Hudson on a ministry field trip to a retirement home.
They performed some Christmas songs and then handed out cards

Not the best picture, but Hudson handed his card out to a lady all by himself. It was a touching time at the retirement home. I was so proud of him!
After that, we headed to their Christmas party at Exerfit. They jumped in a trampoline room, indoor playground and bounce houses.

The kids look forward to going caroling with the church. It was a good night with nice weather.

It is fun to keep up traditions and make memories together every year. I get to look back at the pictures and see how much the kids have grown from year to year.

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
