Summer Fun!

We are kicking off summer with some fun activities. I have been looking on Pinterest for some ideas to keep the kids busy. Hudson already has said he is bored! It might be a long summer...

We went to the splash park, which they always enjoy. I think we will try out some of the others around this summer too.

Grace and Kaden came over to play. They all love digging in the dirt and had an assembly line going. They rode the Jeep, four wheeler, played on the swings and were real dirty by the end of the afternoon.

Everyone was clean and watching a show together
We spent Memorial Day at Nana & Papa's house. The kids got to swim in the big pool. Hudson is doing well with swimming under water and a little bit without floaties. Gianna tried the regular floaties, but she still gets water in her mouth. Hopefully Josh will put our pool up soon at home.

Later in the day, they did a little fishing. All the kids caught a fish with the help of Cadie and were excited!

Hudson and Gianna like playing with Grace's puppy and have been asking if they can get one.
We made tie dye shirts with Sharpies. It is pretty cool and they had fun decorating the shirts. It kept them occupied for a while.
They were happy with the results :)
They like to watch shows together and it's sweet when they lay together and are getting along :)

It's getting warmer now, but we did eat breakfast outside a few days and some lunch.
Painting with water color outside
Gianna went to the salon for the first time to get her hair cut. This was only her second haircut ever. When her hair was straight I could see the ends needed to be trimmed. She wouldn't sit in the chair at first, but then she saw herself in the mirror and liked it.
Hudson got a shorter cut for summer too.

One morning we did a nature walk scavenger hunt. I printed out a list of things to collect and see, attached it to a bag and off we went.

Hudson could check off his own items and I helped Gianna.
We went around the yard and down the road looking for the items. We got a few things and saw a lot of bugs that weren't on the list.

It was a fun outdoor activity with a little bit of learning too
Emerie and Leilynn were in a dance recital at church and we went to watch them. It was mostly fun hip hop dances and moves.
Gianna and Jetta were dancing in their seats.

I almost got them all looking!

On Monday, we went to the mall for Mommy and Me. We have never been, so we tried it out. They had balloon animals, crafts and some games. The carousel ride was free during that time, so that was a plus.

We will see what the rest of the summer has in store!

Rehearsal was on Friday April 11th. Gianna and Grace went early to help with the littles. We had tickets to Showcase 2 on Saturday  The girls in their dressing room. They were in all four showcases that weekend.  Tap - "Shake" Jazz - "Take it All Back"  Pointe- "O The Blood"  Ballet Intense - "My America" Ballet - "Flowers"  Hip Hop Gianna celebrated her 10th year with DDA and had a special tribute during the recital.  This is proof that Hudson went  So proud of Gianna for her hard work. She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
