Hudson's 5 year summary

Five seems like such a big age and milestone! It's hard to believe how the years have gone by. We haven't gone for the 5 year check up, but on  April 2nd he went to the doctor and weighed 41 lbs (50%) and was 3'9" (90%)
We saw him progress in soccer from the fall season to spring. He became more confident and became a good player. Some tears were still shed at times :)

Hudson asked Jesus in his heart on March 30, which was Josh's birthday. I was putting him to bed and he was asking me some questions about God. He then asked if I could help him because he didn't know how to do it. I called Josh in his room and he led the prayer with Hudson. It was a very sweet moment and I'm glad we were both there.

Likes to come in our bed if he wakes up during the night. He will fall asleep in the car on laying with Josh if he is really tired. He said, " a dream is when you think inside your head every night."

Likes soft pants and shirts with no tags. He gets himself dressed and then asks, "does this match?" He doesn't like khaki shorts or pants for some reason. He really likes to wear his Angry Birds shirt.

He watches out for the younger kids and helps them when he can. He tells Gianna stuff like, "don't talk with food in your mouth". He knows what to do, but doesn't always do it himself :)

He is into animals right now and finding out more about them. We got him a Zoobooks magazine subscription and he gets excited to get a new one in the mail.

More open to try new things, but is still a little scared of things like animals. He would only hold Leilynn's bunny with a towel. He won't hold the chickens at Papa's house.

His favorite foods are crawfish, boiled peanuts, Chinese and French fries. He eats more meats now than he did. He also likes broccoli, green beans, popcorn and strawberries right now. He says,"if you eat breakfast for dinner that's cheating."

Enjoys being outside riding his bike, 4 wheeler, playing soccer and making up games with Gianna. He likes to be outside more than Gianna, I guess it's the boy way. He also likes to run, exercise and do races.

Still very goofy and silly. He plays jokes on us and is very cunning when he tricks Gianna into stuff. Sometimes, I can't tell if he is making up stuff or telling the truth because he makes up stories.

When he's excited about something he says, "woo hoo baby!" or "yeah baby!". If we are on our way to get something like ice cream he says, "ice cream here I come!"

The school year just ended and he did very well this year. They had a program Sunday night where the K5 graduated and the K4 participated too. It was very cute and funny! You never know how kids will do in front of a crowd.

He said the pledge to the Christian Flag

He did a group poem about a little turtle

He got the award for most obedient! He also had good conduct all year, never moved from green.

We are so proud of him and how well he did!

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
