Christmas 2013

We had a good Christmas spent with our families. The festivities started a few days before Christmas and we had something almost everyday up to Christmas night.

It started at Maw Ella's house the Saturday before Christmas.
Maw Ella made each family an advent calendar. It is so cute and fun for the kids. We will enjoy it in the years to come.
Kaden was climbing up on all the boxes!

The grandkids looked very cute dressed up

All the children performed Jingle Bells. It was so precious! They all did such a good job too.

On Monday night we went to my Dad's house for dinner and presents.
They all got Flipeez hats and loved them.
We spent Christmas Eve lunch and night at Nana & Papa's house. The kids had matching pajamas with monogrammed shirts.
Papa read the Christmas story first and then the kids opened their gifts.
Hudson got a BB gun and rubber boots among other things.

Gianna wanted to unwrap other people's presents, but did not want anyone to help her.

A few things that Gianna got was a FurReal dog and Baby Alive

Christmas morning was fun with Hudson and Gianna. Hudson requested pancakes for breakfast. Josh made Mickey Mouse pancakes to surprise him.

Josh recapped the Christmas story and we talked about the true meaning of Christmas.
We didn't get them too much because their play set was included in their Christmas. They didn't seem to notice. Hudson was excited about his Batman cave because he really wanted it.

Gianna was fun this year because she could open presents by herself and got excited about them. She would ooh and ahh over her stuff.

I loved all my gifts from Josh including this gold chain link bracelet. He has always been a good gift giver.
I only took one picture at lunch at the Russo's.

Christmas night, my mom's side of the family came to our house. We ate dinner, opened gifts and then played a game.

Gianna got a Minnie Mouse beauty set and was doing everyone's hair and make up.
Dillon was in town and we got to see him a few times.

My mom and Jamie came up with an idea to play a game like the Newlywed game with the couples. Dillon was the host and put it together.
It was so much fun! We laughed and had a great time learning of each other's answers. No one came away too mad.

Josh and I weren't mad at all because we won!! I knew Josh better than he knew me, but I'm okay with that :) Dillon had a prize for the winners- a Nexus tablet. I was happy for Josh because I wanted to get him one for Christmas, so it worked out.

It seemed like Christmas came and went too fast. Life now seems like such hustle and bustle and the time passes by so fast. This year we tried to get back to a Christ centered Christmas instead of the commercialized one. I learned we don't need all that extra stuff for Christmas to be special for the kids. It is special because of what God did by sending His son for us.

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
