We didn't get our tree the day after Thanksgiving since Jen and her family were staying with us. We went on the Monday after to get it at Lowes. The selection was not that great, but we found a keeper.
That night, Josh and Hudson put the lights on and we let the branches fall overnight.
Both of the kids wanted to help decorate the tree and house. They were very excited to get the boxes out of the attic and start.
Gianna just piled all the stars in one spot. Hudson did a good job, but Gianna wants to play with everything and take it off the tree. Needless to say, I had to redo and fix their decorating. We had a good time doing it together and they were proud.
We put the nativity under the tree and talked about the birth of Jesus. (Baby Jesus is still missing by the way.)
Hudson knew his stocking by the letter "H" on it. He hung them up in the order he wanted.
I don't have any breakables in reach of children, I have learned from past years.
I had the felt tree with ornaments from last year and they did some clings on the windows. They both enjoy playing with these kid friendly decorations.
Gianna goes up to the window and says, "it's Christmas!"
We don't have many lights outside. Josh left to work in Arkansas for the snow storm and didn't get to finish. Plus, our inflatables are not working.
Josh was gone for a couple days, but didn't end up working. They got sent home, so we were glad to have him back. I wish the kids could have seen the snow though. Hudson thinks it will snow for Christmas, but I'm afraid he will be dissapointed.
