New York

I went to New York earlier this month with my sister Jennifer and two of her friends. It was a birthday celebration trip. We stayed with my brother Dillon in Queens. It was snowing in New York on the trip up there.

waiting in a coffee shop during the layover in Atlanta

Our flight was delayed because of the snow. We sat on the plane for an hour and half waiting to take off.

The snow had stopped by the time we got there, but it was so cold!!

We immediately hit the town for dinner. That's a view of Manhattan from Queens.

There were a lot of coffee stops through out the trip! It was cold and we did a lot of walking, so we would stop in to warm up.

We went to Time Square that night. I forgot my camera, so all the pictures are with phones :(

This was a big screen in Time Square where you can see yourself and it did funny graphics. We are to the left of the empire state building.

I guess stealing toilet paper must happen a lot
The rest of the days were warmer and pretty. Liberty Island and Ellis Island were still closed from hurricane Sandy. We took the Staten Island ferry that took you past the Statue of Liberty.

We went shopping in China town, but didn't stay long because it was crazy. The people harrass you to come in their store to buy stuff.

So, we walked over to Little Italy where it was nice and calm.

After a couple days of walking, our legs were hurting. We got a pedicure with a stone leg massage. It was very nice!
I miss having coffee with Jen - she is the other coffee drinker in my family
 the famous plaza hotel

took a walk through Central Park

We went to a taping of the show Dillon works on - VH1 Big Morning Buzz. It was neat to see a live show taped and see Dillon in action.
Andy Dick was one of the guests. He's on the next season of Dancing with the Stars.

I had a good time and it was great to see my family that lives away. I missed my little family at home and was so glad to see them! They came to pick me up at the airport. When the kids saw me they ran up and hugged me!! It was the sweetest moment :)

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
