Sickness, fair and parade

We have been battling sickness around our house for about 2 weeks. This is the first time that all 4 of us were sick at the same time. Hudson and I had colds, Gianna had a sinus infection and Josh had a sinus infection plus bronchitis! The worst part is over, but it takes so long to get over this stuff.

(being silly- Gianna imitating Hudson)

I took the kids to the mall playground one day to get out of the house.
It was Gianna's first time going as a toddler.  She wasn't afraid to climb on things and slide down the slides. Hudson calls it the "malls".
They have a train in the mall now and it was right by the playland. Therefore, we ended up riding it.
The weekend was full with a little trip to the parish fair and the Veteran's Day parade.

Fair

We didn't go for long because Josh was anxious to get home for the LSU game. It was long enough for Hudson to ride all the rides a couple times and play the fishing game.

. Gianna coudn't ride because she is too little, but she was fine watching Hudson and Grace.

Parade

The church participated in the Veteran's Day parade this year. We had a float donated to use and decorated it on Saturday morning at our house.

All the cute kids on Sunday morning posed for a picture. Gianna kept going back to sit on the wall after the picture was over.

Hudson rode on the float for the first time and he was excited. He didn't want to throw any candy, he just watched as we passed all the people.
Gianna rode in the truck with Josh

This is a flashback of Hudson 2 years ago from the parade- my how the time has flown!! He was my little blue eyed boy and now we have a little blue eyed girl too :)

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
