Zoo Zoom & 1 year check up

On Saturday, Hudson ran his first race at the zoo. He did a half mile fun run and then there was a 5k following it. He has been into exercising lately and was excited about doing it.

 Josh ran along with him
Lined up and getting ready to start. Leilynn and Emerie ran also, but you can't see them.
Jamie took this while they were running
We could only see the start and finish of the race. That is Luke, Hudson, Josh and Jamie on the left side.
He did very well! He ran the entire time, but did stop to look at the zebras for a second. Josh told him to keep going and he did. We are so proud of him!!
All the kids that ran got a zoo keeper hat
They had food and drinks for everyone and some animals to pet.

Gianna even touched the turtle!

We watched the end of the 5k run
Gianna was clapping for the runners. She was very good and stayed in the stroller until the race was over.
We stayed and walked around the zoo a little while. The kids were tired because we had to wake them up at 6:30 a.m.
It was Gianna's first time at the zoo and she enjoyed it. We will have to bring them back when it gets a little cooler.

Gianna's 1 year check up

We went to the doctor for her 12 month check up and Hudson came too. She is healthy and growing well. She weighs 21 lbs, 2 ounces (50%), 30 inches tall (75%) and her head is 18 inches (50-75%)
It was not a good day for her. She had to get 3 shots and her finger pricked for blood work :( There were a lot of tears.

It took a while to give the blood, so I let her have her first sucker. It took her mind off of it and she stopped crying.

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
