Three becomes Four

We are adjusting to having a newborn in the house again. I forgot how many diapers you change, how much laundry they create and how tired you get with broken sleep. I had to be refreshed on some things even though Hudson isn't that old. I'm still learning what Gianna likes and dislikes, but so far it has been a pretty easy adjustment. We are enjoying a little one to snuggle with and hold while we can.

Gianna had her 1 week check up last week. She weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. One of her eyes has a clogged tear duct, but it's not too bad.

Gianna eats about every 3 hours and wakes up during the night every 2.5 - 3 hours. She is sleeping a lot during the day, but her wake time is increasing. She doesn't like to sleep flat on her back or swaddled. She sleeps on a boppy or in the car seat during the day and her swing at night. I hope she eventually transitions to the bassinet or crib, but for now this is how we all get some sleep.

Hudson stayed with Josh's family a good bit for the first week we were home and they have been a huge help in taking him when I need a break. I have kept both kids a few days by myself and it went pretty smooth. I have to keep a close eye on Hudson around Gianna because he is a little rough with her. He gives her lots of kisses, hugs, talks to her and sings to her. He is a proud big brother and doesn't forget about his "sissy". I think he is adjusting pretty well. I see some jealousy at times, but it's normal with the changes that have taken place.

Josh and I have been trying to spend alone time with Hudson so that he feels special and not left out. Josh took him for a ride in the Jeep as a treat.

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
