Gianna's 1st month in review

I have been trying to do a post for days. There is just not much time in between taking care of two kids now. I am learning how to multitask even more than before. To write this post, I am bouncing Gianna in my lap with my knee so my hands are free. Whatever works, right? That seems to be my motto lately, I'm not doing everything by the book- just trying to get through the days.

Gianna has been sleeping in her car seat the last few days. She did take a couple naps in her bed. When I put her down, she wakes up right away or soon after. She went over 4 hours at night for the past two nights, I hope she is getting the hang of the night time sleep.

Her first church service was at 2 weeks old. Josh has been taking Hudson with him early for music practice and I have Gianna to get ready. The first service I planned on going to, I overslept and we made it for the end of service.

Hudson and Gianna had their first Walmart trip together. My mom came with us to help. They did really well until I let Hudson out of the basket in the check out line and he was lost for about 3 minutes. That was the scariest 3 minutes of my life!! He went into the ladies bathroom that was a few feet away. Lesson learned- Hudson can't get out of the basket and walk!

She started smiling at 3 weeks and this morning she did some cooing for the first time.

Her umbilical cord fell off at almost 3 weeks and now she can take real baths. Hudson was in the tub so I tried the sink, but she is way too long. She didn't mind, because she likes being all snuggled up.

Hudson likes doing things at the same time as Gianna, so they take their baths at the same time then get dressed together.

She has a big brother that loves her very much! He wants her to do big kid things like play outside and go places with him. It's very sweet that he wants to include her in his activities.

She's a little night owl. She doesn't want to go to bed early. It takes her a while to get settled in for the night.

On Monday, I took her for her 1 month check up.

She weighed 10 lbs 7 oz, 22 inches long and her head is 15". Everything is in the 75th percentile. She is almost the same size as Hudson at 1 month. She made a mess on the table. She got poop on the paper then spit up in another spot. Her PKU blood work was normal and she checked out fine.

Last week, we had a few fall like days. Hudson played outside and we strolled Gianna up and down the driveway.

It seems like she has been here longer than a month. Is it possible for her to grow up faster than Hudson did? Hudson seems so big now. I plan on doing a post all about him soon since he will be 2 1/2 next month!!

So glad to "get to know" Gianna a little bit! She looks so much like Hudson did. Or am I imagining that?
Looking forward to seeing you guys!

Such a cutie!! Loved all the pics of her and I can't believe how much she's changing and starting to look more and more like Hudson. I agree and say let her sleep wherever she wants :) You're doing a great job with 2 little ones. (I guess we forgot how rough those sleepless nights can be but I know it will get better soon).

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
