Jen wanted to take a trip somewhere for our 40th. We ended up picking Fairhope, Alabama because it was a good in between place from Baton Rouge and Huntsville. We stayed Thursday night February 16th and left Monday the 19th. Coming from BR was Jamie, Ashley and myself. Jamie and I rode together with Ashley following.
We got there around 5:00 pm to our Airbnb house. It was a very cute house!
We were wearing almost the same thing
Anna made these party favors for everyone. We settled in and hung out a little getting to know Jen's friends from Huntsville
The house was right in town and we walked to Section Street Pizza for dinner. It had drizzled all day, but the rain let up. It was pretty with the town lit up in lights.
We exchanged gifts when we got back and we got each other "1984" sweatshirts! We laughed so much!
Saturday we decided to shop and walk around the town. It's a cute little town and you can walk to many stores. The weather was a lot cooler.
Had lunch at Panini Pete's in the French Quarter replica area of town
Stopped and had coffee at Refuge Coffee
Jamie brought three king cakes for the weekend! Chantilly, blueberry and praline pecan.
Saturday night was the birthday dinner at Tamara's. My mom sent the sashes and crowns for us to wear.
The food was really good!
Ashley had to leave Sunday morning. The rest of us had brunch at Julwin's.
We drove 30 minutes to the outlet mall in Foley and shopped
On the drive back we went to see The Grand Hotel at sunset
It was so pretty there and the hotel is super nice
It got so cold and windy, so pictures were hard
We had dinner in Bayside Grill with a view of the water
A beautiful oak tree outside
The last king cake for our birthday cake. We ate some goof food!
Monday morning we had to say goodbye. It was such a great trip! All the girls were great and it felt like we have known them for years. We stayed up late having great talks and laughs. I especially loved having this time with my sisters!
On my actual birthday, we went to breakfast at Court Street Cafe with some of our family
Josh took off for the day so went and tried French Truck coffee, but we were not fans. We also went to a few stores after.
We had Ladies Bible Study that night at church. My mom brought a cake for dessert.
Our anniversary was on the Saturday after. Josh said he had a surprise planned. We went to drop the kids off at Jennifer's house and there were a lot of cars in the driveway. I walked into a surprise party!
Here are the decorations
There was a photo board of me from over the years
Everyone was waiting
They did a Greek food buffet and a coffee station
The cake was a chocolate ganache and it was so good!
I'm so thankful for Josh thinking of the party and Jennifer hosting and planning it.
