Alabama Trip

My mom asked me and the kids to drive with her to visit Jen. We left on Thursday March 16th. We went to Chuy’s to eat that night. 
                                    
  On Friday, we went to Jen’s new salon to see her room and she did our hair. It’s a very cute place. 
                             
Todd took the kids to jump while we finished up 
                                       
Mom treated us to get our nails done for a late birthday present. (Mom had a busted blood vessel in her eye) 
                                      
On Saturday, we were driving an hour to Cathedral Caverns. We got coffee first at a shop that Todd designed and worked on. It was very cold while we there.

We had to wait for our tour to start, so we found a hole in the wall place to eat lunch. It was a little dirty and small, but the food was good.

We went through and saw all the stalagmites and formations 
This is is the room that looks like a cathedral and how it got the name. It was very cool! 
It was pretty dark for most of the tour and Hudson brought a crow call with him and was blowing it 
On the way back we stopped at Unclaimed Baggage. It is a store that sells things that were in unclaimed suitcases
Gianna got some Airpods and Hudson got a tackle box 
Hudson really wanted to go to the creek, but it was so cold. Todd took him and Nash for a little while on Sunday afternoon while the girls stayed in and watched a movie.
The kids had a fire that night. We went home on Monday morning. We enjoyed our time being with them, just wish it was longer!

Recital

 Rehearsal was on Friday April 11th. Gianna and Grace went early to help with the littles. We had tickets to Showcase 2 on Saturday  The girls in their dressing room. They were in all four showcases that weekend.  Tap - "Shake" Jazz - "Take it All Back"  Pointe- "O The Blood"  Ballet Intense - "My America" Ballet - "Flowers"  Hip Hop Gianna celebrated her 10th year with DDA and had a special tribute during the recital.  This is proof that Hudson went  So proud of Gianna for her hard work. She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good.
