Hudson's 14th birthday was on a Friday. His archery state competition was the next day in Shreveport. We decided to go up on Friday and spend the night. Duck Commander is about an hour and half away in West Monroe. We have always wanted to go, so we made it a fun day for Hudson.
Nana and Papa came at the same time with Grace and Kaden. Mario, Jennifer and Cadie came up in the afternoon.
We took the tour
The gift shop area
It gave the history of where the family started and had replica rooms
"Willie's Office"
Everyone got to make a duck call. There was a video to show us how to do it
"The duck call room"
"Miss Kay's kitchen"
Phil had a message sharing the gospel
It was cool to learn more about the Robertson family
We went to Raising Cane's for lunch
Hudson wanted to go by the Honey Hole fishing shop. JD is on The Duck Call Room podcast that we listen to and his family owns the store. We got to meet him and take a picture. He talked to us for a minutes.
We went to Uncle VJ's house for a little bit. Hudson opened his gifts.
We went to dinner at a Chinese place and did his cake
Little Josh and family came. Mom and Doug came up that evening also.
The archery competition started at 10:00 am.
They finished about an hour later and then we waited a while for results.
We are proud of him for getting out there and trying his best
He placed 17th in his category. The top 10 go to Nationals. He did well for his first time competing.
We ate lunch at Dairy Queen on the way home and he found this little pond in the back and had to fish
