Anniversary

 We did a trip this year because we haven't been able to go for the last few with Covid and hip surgeries. We decided on Laurel, Mississippi for two nights. We stopped in Hattiesburg at Ed's Burger Joint for lunch on the way. 

They had post it notes all over the walls, so we left one for our anniversary. 
Out first stop was The Scotsman General Store and Woodshop. The town is famous for Ben & Erin Napier that are on the HGTV show Home Town. This is Ben's woodshop.

They had murals all over town
We went into the Laurel Mercantile that had home goods
We walked around the downtown area going into shops 


The  Airbnb house we stayed in was very cute 
The outside area was nice, but it was too warm to do a fire 
That night, we ate at Blue Crab Grill. It was very good. The crab and shrimp bread so good!
On Friday we went to Landrum's Homestead Village that was a replica of an old homestead. We went right when it opened because it was across the street from where we were staying. 
Celebrating 17 years! 
We had breakfast after at Grits and Some in town
We stopped at a motorcycle shop called Hell Fighters. It was a Christian owned place with Jeeps, guns, gifts and more. 
That night we went to The Loft for dinner for a nice dinner
It was a a great time together and just what we needed. I love doing life with this man and wouldn't want anyone else!

Recital

 Rehearsal was on Friday April 11th. Gianna and Grace went early to help with the littles. We had tickets to Showcase 2 on Saturday  The girls in their dressing room. They were in all four showcases that weekend.  Tap - "Shake" Jazz - "Take it All Back"  Pointe- "O The Blood"  Ballet Intense - "My America" Ballet - "Flowers"  Hip Hop Gianna celebrated her 10th year with DDA and had a special tribute during the recital.  This is proof that Hudson went  So proud of Gianna for her hard work. She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good.
