Josh, the kids and I made a trip to see Jen. We left on Thursday, July 16th. It took us about 8 hours with stops. It was our first road trip in my new car. We went straight to their house to see them before we checked in our hotel.
We went to dinner that night at Stovehouse. It's an outside venue with several restaurants to pick from. They had live music and cornhole.
It was pretty crowded, so we moved to an open spot with more games.
Saturday morning we met at Greenway Trail. They brought donuts and coffee.
We walked to the creek area and stayed there for a couple hours
The kids had the best time playing in the creek
They all did the rope swing
The girls collected clam shells
The boys were catching crawfish
Hudson caught some small fish that afternoon in their neighborhood pond. Josh cooked pastalaya for them that night and Todd's parents came.
We went to church on Sunday morning and ate lunch at Chuy's
That night, we went to an arcade
The kids played laser tag
Rode bumper cars and played some games
Hudson and Gianna slept at their house that night
We went to a water park for our last day-Point Mallard
It started out cloudy and a little rainy, but we took the chance and went. It worked out because not many people were there.
They had a few big slides, lazy river and a wave pool.
We all went on slides and it was really fun
Both of the kids jumped off the diving boards, including the really high one!
It was a great trip and we loved being with them for a few days! It's always hard to leave and say goodbye.
