Meet Camo

The kids (mostly Gianna) have been asking for a dog for a couple years now. Josh said we would never get a dog. Gianna has been talking about a dog so much lately, he started to give in. He said that we could get them one for Christmas. I began the search for a small dog that doesn’t shed and I searched for weeks. I found a lady in Westwego that had shorkies, but they were ready to go at 8 weeks. They were exactly what we were looking for, so we decided to get a puppy early. On Saturday, November 23rd Josh and I meet the lady in Harahan to look at the puppies and we picked a male.

I was very excited to finally bring home a puppy! It felt so unreal. Josh was laughing at how I was giving the play by play of what the puppy was doing.

On the ride home we started discussing names and when I was looking at his fur it reminded me of camouflage. Josh said camo would be a great name. We waited to make sure the kids liked it before it was official.
We asked Nana & Papa to bring the kids home after we got ready with the surprise. Some of my family came over also to see the reveal. We wrapped a laundry basket and put the puppy under the basket. Josh explaining to them it is an early Christmas present.

They go lift up the basket

Gianna immediately starts crying! She said if she ever got a dog that she would cry. They were so surprised!
Hudson was more excited than we thought he would be. He had heard Josh says that dogs are expensive and a lot of responsibility, so he started saying those things.
They both wanted to hold him and sit by him for the first week.
The new family
The love begins...
Going to the first vet appointment. He weighed 3lbs 14 oz and healthy
He met Roxie that day and she didn't know what to think. He also met Bella and they ran around and played the whole time.
He slept a lot the first two weeks
Jennifer gave him one of Bella's old coats for the cold weather. He kept falling over with it on.
He comes in the classroom during school usually to take a nap
He doesn't really like to take a bath, he tries to jump out of the sink
He met our neighbor's dog, Comet. He is a Great Pyrness. They are one week apart. He has liked all the dogs he meets and loves to play with them.
He wants to chew on things and eats everything he finds on the ground! Josh nicknamed him "Trouble". It is a lot more work than I realized! Hopefully, after this puppy stage things will be a lot easier.
So far, he has only messed up one thing. He chewed the charging cord on Josh's bluetooth sleep mask. We have to watch him closely.
Hudson wants to make him a hunting dog so bad

He sleeps in a kennel at night, but takes naps in our bed sometimes. His belly is spotted. His potty training is going well. He is starting to go by the door or barking to let us know he needs to go outside. Once he is fully trained, he can sleep in the bed. He stays in his kennel or play yard when we leave the house and has done great with no accidents.
13 weeks - 6.8 pounds

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
