End Of School

Our last day of school was May 8, 2019. Last Day of 4th grade and 2nd grade.
Love my little students and for all the time I get to spend with them!
They picked Popeyes for lunch and they got an ice cream cone too
The last month of school was a little tough. I guess they know the end is near. We were all glad that summer was coming. This year felt a lot like last year, which was our first homeschooling year. A few things got better, but we still struggled through some days. It was a year of trial and error again and that's okay. Even small progress is something and gives me hope for the future!
They both loved doing science experiments. We tried to do more at the end of the year to make it more fun.
Hudson liked science, history and health better than language and math. We would try different places to read, but he gets distracted anywhere. He is more interested in the school of life than the classroom. He said he’s not going to college to save us money and so he won’t have to do more school ;)
Language wasn't bad, but he was so discouraged by math and would get upset a lot. He made this drawing of how he felt about math. We were learning equations and it didn't make sense to him. Maybe we will try a different math next year.
He doesn't like anyone to see his paper when he is taking a test.
Gianna improved in her reading over the year and now she likes to read. She likes to read at night in her bed.
She still doesn't like handwriting, but she did more when her history and science were done early for the year.
Her favorite thing to do is art. This was a thumbprint flower.

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
