Orange Beach Vacation 2017

We left on Labor Day with the Russo family for a beach vacation. We did Disney in February, so it felt like a long time since a vacation.  The kids wanted to go to the beach too, so they were excited to get the chance at the end of summer.

We stopped for breakfast on the way out and then Kaden rode in the truck with us on the way there.

Gianna was with Grace in the other vehicle

They immediately had to try out the pool, lazy river and slides! We stayed at the Caribe. This was our third time staying there. It is a very nice place and has a lot for kids to do.

The first day there we went to the beach first. Every morning following started at the beach and then we would go to the pool after lunch.

Waiting for the trolley to take us to the beach.

The trolley made it so easy hauling all of our stuff from the condo to the beach. We didn't have to get sand in our vehicles.

The kids loved the beach! They could spend hours out there, which is nice to stay in one spot for a while.

No one was out there on the first day

That night we ate at a new burger place. Josh liked their spicy ketchup so much that he bought two bottles.

Day 3- September 6th

There were huge jellyfish all down the beach, but no one was stung
They tried catching little fish that were swimming all around
Josh caught a blue crab and then they kept trying for the next couple of days

Had dinner at the Shrimp Basket on two nights. Josh was joking, but messed up our picture. He doesn't like to take pictures 😁

Hudson said he doesn't like to take pictures either and Jen told him too bad! 😆

We did a sand crab hunt that night. It was very windy and a little cool. It was girls versus boys to see who could catch the most.

The boys won, but everyone had fun!
Fishing and crabbing continued

Hudson was really into fishing on the trip

A big  pirate tour ship passed by when we were on the beach

The last beach day
We went on the ocean side for the kids to play in the waves

They had so much fun!

He dug himself in a hole
 Headed to take family pictures
I was trying to recapture a moment from Hudson's first Gulf Shores trip in September 2010

We really enjoyed vacationing with everyone and making memories together!

Nana & Papa watched the kids on the last night and we ate at the Cobalt restaurant

We were about to leave the condo and go home. Glad they get to spend these times with their cousins.

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
