Miscellaneous May

The kids dressed up as hunters and then had a picnic outside
 Always being silly

We planted a garden, but we were a little late. It was a beautiful day and we all got involved.
Gianna did most of the planting and she did very good.
We planted peppers, eggplant and tomatoes
She said, " I can't believe I'm planting something in Spring!" She was the most excited.
Josh prayed for the National Day of Prayer in Port Allen
Hudson can drive the big 4 wheeler by himself now

They had field day the last week of school

The last day of school was May 18, 2017
Gianna had pajama day and that's why she is wearing a nightgown

Hudson got an award for being on Honor Roll all year

His second grade teacher, Mrs. Phillips. We really liked her, she was sweet and helpful.
We said goodbye to their teachers and friends because we won't be returning to CLA in the fall. We are going to start homeschooling. We have nothing against the school, we really enjoyed our time there. It's just the best decision for our family right now. I'm both excited and nervous about it, it is definitely a new adventure for all of us!
They picked out some toys and activities at the dollar store for summer and I took them to lunch at Chic fil a.

Hudson made a fort in his room with a lot of blankets
Hudson was trying to put relish on Josh's plate and he does not like pickles.

Hudson said to lock him outside because he is bad, so we did for a moment. And then we let him in. He is always locking people out!
Hudson helping Gianna ride her bike. He got frustrated because she didn't keep peddling.

She is doing very well now. She is always getting hurt, so this made me so nervous. I'm so glad she can do it and didn't fall much.

Hudson using his new light bar at dark
Taking walks to the mailbox before it gets too hot

Memorial Day weekend
We did a stay cation at Nana & Papa's house. We stayed in our camper in their backyard.

When it got dark they had frogs out and then somehow it became a frog hunt. Flashlights, head lights and camera phone lights came out in search for frogs.

They would catch one and put it in a cup after it was dead. I think it was over 40 frogs!

To kill the frogs you had to stomp on them and they thought that was fun. The boys were definitely more into it than the girls. EEWW!

They also played games inside and outside the next day.

They rode the  4 wheeler and go cart
of course, swim because it was hot out

Gianna is learning how to swim without floaties. Another thing to make me nervous, but it is good.

The guys made them a sprinkler spray park

Josh did the cooking and it was all good food
My 3 blue eyed loves!

Gianna and I went by the state capitol to see the Memorial they had for fallen soldiers

Stopped at Old Navy with Jetta and Gigi
Nana B & Paw Paw wanted to take the kids to Celebration Station for a fun night and dinner at Cracker Barrel.
All the kids play miniature golf

Hudson came from the camp so he was dressed in camo. He was really good. They haven't played in a while.

They rode a few rides

They rode go carts
It was Gianna's first time driving a go cart and she didn't want to at first. Leilynn talked her into it. All the girls went together.

She liked it so much she went another time.
They had time to play a few games.
Everyone had a fun night together

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
