Chickens

We now have four chickens at our house. Papa let the kids pick out some chickens to keep at home. Josh built a coop with a nesting box.
We went to tractor supply to get feed and supplies. Grace and Kaden were with us that night.

The kids picked out two brown and two white.
Hudson was so scared that they were going to get out and he was crying. He is still nervous about them getting out and running away.
They are set up in the backyard where we can watch them.
We picked the coldest week to get them, Their water was frozen a couple days.
Our first day (January 8th) we had 3 eggs and 23 in the first week. They lay either 3 or 4 eggs a day.

It's exciting to see how many eggs are in the box. Hudson is tall enough to see in, but we have to hold Gianna up.

Their names are Lucy, Annie, Becky and Bobbie.
The chickens started off scared when Josh put the food and water in the coop, but now are getting more aggressive.

Hudson and Gianna love to check on the chickens and feed them grass, weeds, clover and corn. Gianna got pecked a few times and cried. Hudson brought a picture and some boiled eggs for show and tell at school. His teacher said it was a big hit!

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
