Summer Days

This post is kind of long and covers a variety of stuff from mid June to now.

When Dillon was in town, we took the kids to see a movie. They were very excited! I think they were looking forward to the popcorn and drink.
Gianna did pretty good, except for all the bathroom trips. We had to go three times between her and Hudson!
Huddy ate his popcorn and then wanted more, so we took another trip out to the concession stand. Good thing it was the cheap movie and Gianna was free, because we missed a lot of it!
After the movie, we headed to the mall for lunch and some play time.
We said bye to Uncle Dillon until he comes back down this month.

At home, the kids have been building tents and forts.

Playing dress up

Emerie spent the weekend with us and she slept in Gianna's bed. Gianna is not real good at sleepovers yet. She kept talking and keeping Emerie up. She finally quit talking and fell asleep.

I had the idea for the kids to make pizzas, but Gianna didn't want to do it. I helped Hudson make a soccer ball pizza.
One Sunday afternoon, we went to Nana B's and played in the kiddie pool. The kids are getting too big for it, but they still had fun.

 Showing off their spaghetti mustaches
They like watching movies with popcorn
Having some interesting discussions at breakfast like flying squirrels. Hudson is into animals and Gianna acts like she knows all about it.
We all sat down and colored together, even me. I forgot how fun it is to color.

Leilynn and Emerie spent the night while Jamie went to Alabama to help Jen move back the rest of their stuff.

We haven't put up our pool yet and they were begging me to do something. I got a little 6 foot pool at the dollar store.
They had lunch outside on the patio
They got creative and put the slip n slide at the bottom of the slide and went in the pool
Emerie and Leilynn caught two frogs on the patio and wanted to keep them in a cage. Hudson and Gianna were so scared. Gianna was crying because she didn't want the frogs in her pet carrier.
They usually put on some kind of show. Hudson and Leilynn were performing a song.
The next night, Luke and the girls came back to spend the night. The kids did more performances for us.

On Jen's moving day, we had Nash and Jetta at our house so they wouldn't be in the way.

All the grandkids with Nana B on her birthday. We cooked for her and Jamie made a cake.
We had a friend dig the ditches on our road and Josh was helping him. Hudson had to be right there "helping" with his rubber boots just like Josh.
Hudson is a good little worker. He came in with his face all red and sweat rolling down his face. He didn't want to come inside, but Josh told him to take a break.

4th of July
We rode in the Jeep to Nana & Papa's house for the night.
The kids swam and then we went to pick out fireworks. Hudson was picky about what he wanted and Gianna was just throwing stuff in the basket.

Gianna was so scared that I had to go inside with her, so I didn't get to see Huddy pop his fireworks.

Everyone rode on the levee to see the big fireworks show from Port Allen. We convinced Gianna to go with us and she liked it because they were so far away that she couldn't hear them.

They were trying to use floats in the little pool

We watched Nash and Jetta on a Saturday and they were pulling each other on the floats.

It has been good to have Nash and Jetta here and see them regularly. Hudson keeps saying he wants to live by Nash so he can play with him all the time :)
And of course all summers here include snowballs! Hudson likes blue bubblegum and Gianna likes pink bubblegum.

Nash's Party
We celebrated Nash's 4th birthday at a splash park.

He had a dinosaur theme. They had cute dinosaur cookies that the kids really liked.

Nash wasn't in to taking pictures, they were trying to get him to laugh.

Rehearsal was on Friday April 11th. Gianna and Grace went early to help with the littles. We had tickets to Showcase 2 on Saturday  The girls in their dressing room. They were in all four showcases that weekend.  Tap - "Shake" Jazz - "Take it All Back"  Pointe- "O The Blood"  Ballet Intense - "My America" Ballet - "Flowers"  Hip Hop Gianna celebrated her 10th year with DDA and had a special tribute during the recital.  This is proof that Hudson went  So proud of Gianna for her hard work. She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
