We had three days close together of snow and ice. The first day it was expected was on Friday, January 24. I stayed up late Thursday night trying to see some flurries, but nothing came. It started in the early morning hours, so we woke up to a light dusting.
We went out in the morning in case it wouldn't last. The kids were so amazed by snow and finding it everywhere.
They walking around the yard exploring, but Hudson slipped and hit his chin. We are not use to playing in icy conditions :)
I gathered up some to bring under the patio. Then their hands got so cold they were burning!
We managed to make a little snowman before going in.
Josh was able to get to work that morning, but took hours to get home that night due to the bridges being closed. He had iciles all over his truck.
Over the weekend, the news said to prepare to be home for a couple of days with another winter storm. We stocked up on food and snacks and prepared in case we lost power. Luckily, it wasn't as bad as expected.
We were home Tuesday and Wednesday, then Hudson went back to school on Thursday.
It was so cold, we couldn't stay outside for long!
Some of the inside activities Hudson and Gianna did were playing with cups, coloring, making tents and houses.
Josh worked, so he wasn't hanging out with us at home. He was prepared to stay at work if it got bad, but thankfully it didn't. We were happy to have him home at night.
The last time it snowed Hudson was 8 months old and I was hoping he would see it again when he was older.
