Beach trip

We went to Orange Beach, AL with Josh's family for vacation. Everyone else left on Monday, but Josh had a meeting on Tuesday for work. Hudson went ahead with Papa & Nana and we left Tuesday afternoon with Gianna. She didn't sleep at all on the way, but she did okay.
The weather was cool and the water was very cold. It was an usually cold May week. The kids didn't want to go very deep in the water.

Thankfully, they had several indoor pools so it didn't stop the kids from swimming.

It did warm up some by Thursday and it was a pretty day. The water was still cold, but more bearable to do the lazy river.

They loved the kiddie slides. Gianna would go down and immediately get out to go again. Josh was getting worn out from catching her.

Hudson was brave and went down a big slide with Josh
The resort had nice amenities like a tennis court, playground and arcade.

It wasn't the best weather on the beach day, but at least we went once.

It was Gianna's first time to the beach and her first vacation too. She didn't mind the sand, but wanted it off her hands and mouth.

She was excited to go to the beach! She is still talking about it.

Hudson said his stomach was hurting and all of a sudden he threw up. We don't know exactly why, but it was only one time. He slept for a while and recovered quickly. We were going to the go cart track and I think that helped him get moving.
I'm glad he was feeling better and didn't miss it. He had such a good time and did not want to leave!

Gianna didn't quite make the height requirement, but Josh convinced them to let her ride. She looked so little in that go cart.
Hudson was tall enough to drive the kiddie carts by himself! He drives his own stuff at home, but for some reason seeing him at a track really hit me. I teared up seeing him drive the go cart around.

The kids went on some rides and Gianna did some things more her size.

She didn't want to get off when the ride stopped and she would cry.

last stop at the souvenir shop before leaving
These are some family pictures that Cadie took

It was a fun trip and we really enjoyed spending time with everyone. The kids played hard and had a great time together. Gianna must have been tired because she slept on the way home.

She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
