Hudson's year in review

Hudson turned one today! I didn't know it would pass by so fast. I'm sad in a way to see the baby days gone, but I love watching him grow and learn new things. I'm already an emotional person, but my heart is even more tender since I have become a mother. His small accomplishments touch my heart so much and I'm so proud to be his mom- even though he doesn't say my name yet :) It has been the hardest job and the greatest one all at the same time.

It was a long day of labor (18 hours), but he was worth the wait! He came out looking like Josh, which was fine with me. I'm happy to have a little reminder of Josh with me all the time. 1 week

He was jaundice, so he looked tan for the first week or so then his skin turned fair. He ate every 2 hours day and night.

1 month
He started sleeping all night at 7 weeks. He has only been sick twice. First time was at 5 weeks with a sinus infection.

2 months
He never liked tummy time, he would get so mad.
4 months
We found out he had reflux and floppy cartilage on his vocal chords that made a rattle.

6 months
He started taking good naps at 6 months, before that he was a cat napper. He also started sitting up by himself.
9 months
He started crawling right before 9 months.

12 months
He has 6 teeth, not walking by himself yet.

We went to the doctor today for the 12 month check up. He weighs 23 lbs 2 ounces, 31 inches long. His head and height are in the 90th percentile and his weight is between 50th and 75th. Dr. Wood thinks he will be pretty tall. He checked out fine. He got 3 shots and did some routine lab work. He did pretty well. He didn't cry when they pricked his finger for blood. What a birthday for him! He wants us to start weaning Hudson off the bottle and switch to whole milk. I don't think it will be a problem for Hudson. We haven't had his party yet because of the house, but it is coming up.

What a fine young man! I can't believe it's been a year already! I am so grateful we get to watch Hudson grow from afar. Thanks Jennine for keeping us posted.

I guess because I'm super emotional right now or something but this post actually made me cry. I know this year of his life went by fast but seeing the pictures made it so real. Made me realize how fast Grace will grow up and change. You have been a wonderful mother and I thank God for a sister-in-law and friend like you that I know I can always go to for advice. (since you've already done all the research!!)

Rehearsal was on Friday April 11th. Gianna and Grace went early to help with the littles. We had tickets to Showcase 2 on Saturday  The girls in their dressing room. She did a great job! The ballet and pointe dances were so powerful and beautiful this year! I always get teary when I watch and this year was no different.  I volunteered on Sunday for the last showcase I was with a class next to Jules and got to watch some of her dances from back stage.  Gianna and Jules were both in this showcase, so my parents came to watch on Sunday A long weekend for the big girls, but they love doing it

March 2025

4-H shooting regionals was held the week of March 17th. Hudson had archery on Tuesday.  He placed 4th in his category and was going to state! Josh was out there all week since he is a coach  Hudson had shot gun events on Friday and Saturday.  Coach Mr. Donald and team They pray before they start  Kaden made it to state in shotgun This was his first year shooting advanced shot gun and it was tougher, but we are proud of him for trying it.  Hudson finished his driver's ed class. He got a 98 on the driving portion.  We celebrated Josh's 45th birthday at his parent's house. His mom made lasagna.  The beans were an inside joke  I made him Granny Lois' lemon pound cake  We went to lunch for Jamie and Leilynn's birthdays at Building 5 I gave Jamie a kitchen towel with Granny's pound cake recipe. She loves that cake and I have been wanting to make it for her. She loved it and cried.

February 2025

The girls had dress rehearsal for dance. I went on the Thursday class on the 6th. We got to see a preview of the dances.  Hudson had his first driving session on February 10th. He has to do 8 hours of driving with 2 hours being at night. I waited in the parking lot until he left. We did pretty good waiting while he was gone, but we kept checking Life 360. He said it was fine, I thought he was a little nervous. Afterward, he said it was no big deal. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since he has been driving off road vehicles since he was young.  We spent Valentine's Day at home and made pizzas.  My birthday was on a Friday and I had work. Josh surprised me with an orchid for my desk.  I had lunch with some of my family at Albashas. Dillon was in town for something else and was able to come to lunch.  We celebrated our 19th anniversary by going to The little Big Cup in Arnaudville.  The food was really good. I had the crab cake and eggplant stack and Josh h...
